Épiphanies

9 November 2025 - 24 January 2026
Galerie Younique, Paris

The photograph of Javier Silva Meinel is a revelation, in other words an epiphany: between sublimated reality and mystery. His images are visual poems, where the sacred dialogues with everyday life and transports us with precision in time. With a lot of respect, Silva Meinel introduces himself to intimate parties and moments, to immortalize his beloved country that he has traveled for 50 years: Peru.

This is the second solo exhibition at the gallery of this major Latin American photographer. After his big retrospective in Lima "La Luna del Cóndor" at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC Lima), we are happy to show these images unpublished in France, with about fifteen pieces on different subjects. Demanding and passionate portraitist, he recreates the studio on the path and spends time with his subjects, developing with them a certain complicity; in order to sublimate these characters/animals/situations/landscapes and reveal them to the viewer. The strange and wonderful universe of Silva Meinel is a true tribute to humanity; a meticulous work influenced by the work of greats like Aaron Siskind, Minor White or even Martín Chambi.
